Is There Room for the Bible and Faith in Business?

Can a person truly run a successful business while openly living by biblical principles and faith in God?

I believe the answer is absolutely yes. In fact, I personally believe that removing God and the Bible from business and everyday life is one of the biggest mistakes our world is making today. My moral compass comes from the God who created me, and I believe that biblical principles create a stronger foundation for how we treat people, make decisions, and conduct business honestly.

As a Christian, I believe the Bible gives us guidance on how we should live, lead, and interact with others. In 1 Peter, we are taught to respect leadership and authority so long as what we are asked to do does not go against God’s Word. That kind of teaching builds discipline, humility, and accountability — qualities that are desperately needed in business today.

Faith Creates a Strong Moral Foundation

One of the reasons I believe Christianity belongs in business is because the Bible teaches principles centered around love, honesty, service, and integrity. Scripture tells us to love one another as we love ourselves and to treat others the way we would want to be treated.

Those are not weak principles. Those are strong principles.

When you truly apply those teachings to business, it changes how you deal with customers, employees, negotiations, contracts, and difficult situations. It pushes you to operate fairly even when nobody is watching. It reminds you that your reputation matters and that character matters more than profit.

That does not mean Christians are perfect. Far from it. We all make mistakes. We all fall short at times. But faith gives us something to strive toward — a higher standard and a deeper accountability than simply chasing money or success.

Christianity and Business Are Not Opposites

In today’s culture, faith is often treated like something that should stay hidden or private, especially in professional environments. But I believe many of the greatest business values actually come directly from biblical teachings.

Honesty.
Integrity.
Forgiveness.
Humility.
Hard work.
Serving others.
Personal responsibility.

These are all principles that help businesses grow the right way.

At CrossView Realty, even the name reflects part of who we are — “Cross” and “View.” While nobody is perfect, we try to live and work above reproach in the way we serve people. I believe customers can feel the difference when a business genuinely cares about doing what is right instead of only focusing on profit.

Sometimes Love Means Tough Love

One thing people often misunderstand about Christianity is that love does not always mean telling people only what they want to hear. Sometimes real love means telling the truth, encouraging responsibility, and helping people grow stronger.

There is a saying often connected to biblical wisdom: teach a man to fish instead of simply giving him fish. The idea is not to control people, but to help them become capable, responsible, and able to stand on their own.

Good leadership works the same way in business. The goal should not simply be to make people dependent, but to help others succeed, grow, and improve their lives.

Faith in Business Still Matters

Whether someone believes in God or not, I believe that when you truly study Christianity through the Bible, its foundation is rooted in love, accountability, and respect for others. Those principles can strengthen families, communities, and businesses alike.

For me personally, faith is not something I separate from business. It is part of who I am. It shapes how I treat people, how I make decisions, and how I try to conduct myself every day.

Nobody will do it perfectly. But I believe striving to honor God in business is still one of the best foundations a person can build on.
